The places that make
Wimberley famous.
Wimberley's natural landmarks and cultural attractions are woven into the fabric of daily life here. From the spring-fed waters of Cypress Creek and the Blanco River to the galleries and shops of the Wimberley Square, these are the spots that draw visitors — and often convince them to stay.
Blue Hole Regional Park
A spring-fed swimming hole surrounded by 126 acres of towering bald cypress forest. Open seasonally (Memorial Day through Labor Day), Blue Hole is one of the most photographed swimming spots in Texas. There are rope swings, picnic areas, walking trails, and a pavilion for events.

Visit WebsiteWimberley Square
The heart of town. A walkable square lined with art galleries, antique shops, boutiques, and locally owned restaurants. From the famous Wimberley Market Days (the largest outdoor market in Texas) to spontaneous live music on a Saturday afternoon, the Square is always alive.
Wimberley Market Days

Cypress Creek
Running through the heart of Wimberley, Cypress Creek connects Jacob's Well to the Blanco River. The banks are lined with restaurants, shops, and walking paths. It's the scenic thread that ties the town together.
Blanco River
The Blanco River winds through Wimberley and the surrounding Hill Country, offering swimming, fishing, kayaking, and some of the most scenic riverfront properties in Central Texas. Several parks and access points make it easy to enjoy the water.
A foodie destination hiding
in the Hill Country.
Wimberley's dining scene punches well above its small-town weight class. Forget the swimming hole stereotype — this town has become a legitimate food destination. From handmade Italian pasta on the Square to slow-smoked Hill Country brisket, farm-to-table dinners, and weekend brunch spots where the locals queue up, the question is not whether you'll eat well here but how many meals you can fit in a weekend.

So much more than
swimming holes.
Yes, Wimberley has world-class swimming. But the Hill Country offers a whole universe of outdoor experiences that do not require getting wet. Whether you are a hiker, a birder, a stargazer, or just someone who loves a scenic drive with the windows down, Wimberley delivers.
Hiking & Trail Walks
Blue Hole Regional Park has 126 acres with 1.8 miles of hiking trails through cypress forest. Jacob's Well Natural Area offers 81 acres of Hill Country terrain. Pioneer Town Trail and the trails at EmilyAnn Theatre Gardens are also excellent for a walk in nature.
Wildflower Viewing & Photography
Spring in Wimberley is a wildflower spectacle. Bluebonnets, Indian paintbrush, and Texas blanketflower paint the hillsides from March through April. Scenic Loop Road and River Road are prime viewing routes. Bring your camera.
Scenic Drives
Some of the most beautiful drives in Texas are right here. Ranch Road 12 between Wimberley and Dripping Springs winds through rolling hills, limestone bluffs, and vineyards. River Road follows the Blanco River canyon. FM 3237 takes you through Driftwood wine country. Roll down the windows and take the long way.
Stargazing
Minimal light pollution means the Hill Country skies are spectacular after dark. The nearby Dripping Springs area is an International Dark Sky Community — one of only a handful in Texas. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way stretching overhead from your own backyard or from a blanket at Blue Hole Park.
Wine Trail & Hill Country Tastings
Wimberley sits at the heart of the Hill Country wine trail. Spend an afternoon visiting Wimberley Valley Winery, Driftwood Estate Winery, Duchman Family Winery, and tasting rooms on the Square. Many offer outdoor seating with panoramic views — the perfect non-swimming Hill Country afternoon.
Bird Watching & Wildlife
The Blanco River corridor and Hill Country woodlands are home to golden-cheeked warblers, black-capped vireos, great blue herons, and the beloved Texas armadillo. Bring binoculars and explore the trails at dawn or dusk for the best sightings.
