Community Overview

What is Woodcreek,
and what makes it
special?

Woodcreek is a master-planned residential community on the Hays County side of Wimberley, established in the early 1970s and continuing to grow with newer sections like Wimberley Ridge. It is named for its abundant trees and park-like setting — live oaks, cedars, and native landscaping line nearly every street. The centerpiece of the neighborhood is the Quicksand at Woodcreek Golf Club, an 18-hole semi-private course that has been part of the community since 1972.

With a mix of older ranch-style homes from the 1980s and newer traditional construction, Woodcreek offers options across price ranges. Homeownership rates are high at around 82 percent, and the neighborhood attracts a blend of families, retirees, and second-home buyers who want to be close to Wimberley's downtown without being in the middle of tourist traffic.

I have helped dozens of buyers find homes in Woodcreek over the years, and the most common reason people choose it is the combination of location, amenities, and community feel. You get the convenience of a maintained HOA community with the character of the Hill Country all around you. — Steve Giannone, Realtor · 40+ years in Central Texas real estate

A note from Steve on Woodcreek pricing

"Woodcreek is one of the most accessible entry points into the Wimberley market. You get HOA-maintained streets, a golf course, and a strong sense of community for a fraction of what you might pay for a comparable home inside Austin. Over the years I have seen Woodcreek hold its value well — and newer sections like Wimberley Ridge continue to attract buyers who want a turnkey home in a great location."
